About the RPCV International Calendar

Since 1961 more than 235,000 Americans have served as Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) in thousands of communities overseas. Many have returned home wishing they could do more, and have looked for ways to carry out Peace Corps’ Third GoalTo help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.

For more than 30 years—since 1988—the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers in Madison, Wisconsin, have dedicated themselves to promoting the Third Goal through the International Calendar Project, each year creating a new calendar featuring countries where volunteers serve. In addition to providing a window to the broader world, the calendar is used to raise funds for development projects both overseas and at home: net proceeds from International Calendar sales are donated to Peace Corps projects and to local development projects. Since 1988, the Madison group has given away than $1.3 million, while other RPCV groups sell the calendar to fund their own donations programs.
